A TL2000? Did you mean the TL 1000?

Funny you should mention the TL 1000, if that is what you meant. I recently read an article about the TL 1000 in PB entitled "Lethal Weapon". The TL 1000 apparently was known as being a big tank slapper.

Not to mention it having 117hp, its definately not a bike to learn on. Selling a liter bike to a newb, must be a good friend.

Then I advise you not to get a motorcycle, by your own words, you are an accident waiting to happen.

Wow... that bike's been called a "widowmaker" in various circles... STEER CLEAR.

I picked up a 79 Kawasaki KZ650 for $700 (most UJM's can be had for a similar price)... heavy, but fast enough and easy to learn on. Just don't drop it on yourself. The 4cyl engine is smooth, and is probably faster than I need, but definitely managable.

I also have an Alphasports GV250, which is a great beginner bike (actually my first bike)... I like riding it more than the KZ for just cruising around. It is really comfortable, and I've been getting 68mpg consistently. Not fast by any means, but I just like to cruise :) and it is still faster than my car to 60mph.
