I’m thinking of getting a new tattoo and maybe you folks can help. My plan is an arm band with some type of stylealized motorcycle in the middle. Are you familiar with the OCC logo? I don’t ride a chopper, I ride a cruiser and I of course am not interested in stealing their logo but I do like its look. It’s a motorcycle without shouting motorcycle. So I was thinking I would like something similar. I have been looking at clip art till my eyes hurt and I have a couple I like but any links to pictures you think might fit the bill I would appreciate seeing.

Thanks all for your help.

What else do you want in the tattoo? You should figure out what elements you like, and a general them for it. E.g. the letters in the not-obviously-motorcycle should mean something, or if you go with just pictures - it should mean something to you.

Once you have a collection of things you like the look of, do yourself a favor and find yourself a good tattoo artist. They'll be able to take all your ideas and turn it into your tattoo - and do a good job so it stays looking "right" for a long time.

If you have a friend who draws, you can take a crack at it with them first.

I don't know - I wish I'd taken more time before choosing my tattoo. It is ok, but nothing to write home about (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead reference)....

It sounds like you'd be interested in tribal designs. Most places have lots of stuff in books and on the walls that you can choose from, but personally, I'd want something completely unique. So, even if you start with something off the wall, have the artist do a little something to it to make it unique.

googling "tribal motorcycle" gave a coupl eof cool results in that vain... if you show a decent tattoo artist something like that they should be able to hook you up with art.

He was asking for help finding a design. Not for reassurance that we will accept him still. Or whatever it is you seem to be implying.

And ,havegunjoe, Im pretty sure you just got called a wannabe.

I’ve already got a couple of tats that I am very happy with so I know all about the process. I’m just looking for an idea or an example of a design/picture of a “motorcycle” that I can start with and as others have suggested work with to make it mine. I’ll come up with the rest of the armband to go with the motorcycle as the center piece once I know what that looks like. I already have a good tattoo artist to go to that will help modify what I bring him to the way I want it to look. I’m not a “wannabe” anything so if you don’t have any suggestions to my question stay out of the conversation please. By the way XBO8 your sentence structure needs work.

That sounds like a cool idea - with the motorcycle as a centerpiece.

Personally, if I was an artist, I'd draw everything that was at least two things...

Besides, if anyone is a wannabe around here I strongly suspect its me.

What I wannabe, though, I don't know.
