Nothing but good news. LoudBike is running! Kicked it back into life late last night, I just need to put on a chain and get the headlight mounted up. I still don't have any machines so I made a pair out of some aluminum strips I found in the shop.
So tonight for the first time in 2? 3? years I'll ride her again. No rearsets yet, but I'll ride her anyway.
Thanks Jones for the tips, check your PMs.

Damnit! I just wrote a big long entry on my first ride and it timed me out. So here's the abbreviated:
Got her running for a party, but not without clutch problems. Shortened clutch cable failed first, then I pulled the eccentric over center. Rode to the party Saturday with Chris:

Some of the cars:

Left around 3pm:

Broke around 3:05pm, battery fried. It was old... just gave out. Got a tow back to the party and got a lift (Me and my bike) home from one of the guys at the party. Glad that I broke down because I stayed for the whole party and had a blast.

Rode out to Strokers the next weekend with a new battery to hang out with the bikers, and made it without problems right up till I pulled into a spot and my eccentric slipped again. Loosen cover till it snaps back into place, tighten back up, and adjust clutch pull... easy.

G,day from Down Under!
Great info, great pics... Job well done mysta2. I like your style.
This is my first post after only discovering the site this afternoon.... I have been here for hours! ... and I can say I will spend many more here!
I will post some pics of my latest project (CB200 Twin Cafe Racer), which I only started last weekend, when time permits.
It is good to find such a site... plenty of ideas, pics & info.

Hey Mista2
Wanted to show you the tail chop and hoop on my frame inspired by yours. It is longer than yours so doesn't look as cool but will hopefully house the battery.

Also polished the cam covers. I really like your tail light/lisence plate frame idea. I'll be makin' one of those!

looks good, when you make up the bracket use the thickest material you can bend and I'd suggest mounting the light more inboard than I did mine... I don't know why I did it so far out. That might cut down on the vibration and the bikes appitite for 1157 bulbs. I'll be changing mine in such a way when my schedule permits... so maybe sometime in the next decade

Take a look at this guy's Z400 racer, it might give you some inspiration for '69. Anyone who has followed your link will also enjoy reading it.

Hello all.
Thanks for all the interest, I haven't completely dropped off the face of the earth, I've just (as a lot of you know) been spending a lot of time over at DTT with the Canadians.
I've just started a build thread up that I intend to cover SixtyNine in detail. I can't promise it will move fast because there's a lot to do but it should serve as a good companion to this piece over time.
Check it out here:

For somewhat of a conclusion (although we all know they're never really done) for Loudbike click these:

Hope I'm not stepping on any moderator toes here

Wow man, gorgeous girl on a gorgeous bike!
Did you really take it to the salt flats and run it?
Oh and if you happen to have her number, pass it on!
Looks beautiful though man, beautiful.

Thanks
The top pic was a shoot that we did here in Texas in a part of old town Irving. That shoot was a feature in the Febuary issue of The Horse.
The lower pic is at the great salt planes in Oklahoma, it's a wildlife preserve so you can't ride out onto it much. The girl in these pics is my friends, brothers girl. We were up there to visit them and I asked if she'd come out to the salt for some pictures, she turned out to be a great model and I hope to work with her again... even though she did drop the bike! (click on the pic)

Very nice man, there's something about an old-school cafe that gets my blood racing. Small little engines compared to modern day screamers but so light and nimble, and especially with all of the weight shaved off of them.
I have a buddy that builds cafes, his latest is a KZ1000 that's up to 150 hp (naturally aspirated of course) and weighs in at 435 lbs...
