Hi Y'all

#1 Unread post by IronPonies »

This is my first time on a forum so If I break a rule or 2, let me know and I'll fix it. I've been riding 20 years if you count dirt biking as a kid. But this is my first Harley and I love it. As my wife put's it, we're in a family way but I can't stop riding so when we saw the ex-police bike we couldn't let it go.

Anyway, I live in Texas where we usually ride year round. But before I get flamed, it's 43 outside so it ain't that great. And we'll be 104-5 next summer when you will be cruising around in the 80's.

Hope to talk to as many of y'all as possible... 8)
My first Harley. A 2008 Electra Glide that I got at an auction. I'm going to take the dual seat off and put back the sprung single seat and the Cop top pack.

43, yeah understand the problem there, do you go in shirt sleeves or wear a jacket... It's -5 outside right now, but nice and dry. if I wasn't going to bed, I might have taken the bike out to get a coffee... Image

Hello Iron ,

Because in my city it is impossible to buy an ex police HD , and I suppose on the all of Italy , could you please give me an idea on how much did you pay for your HD , approx .
It is quite cold here too . I am living close to Torino . We have 2-7 Celsius degree . and I ride with a kind of handlebar muffs ( Hippo Hands copy ) .
But today the sun was shining like in the Summer and very bright air .

Angelo' best regards

Welcome to TMW.

If I weren't so darn busy with my work stuff this week, I would have put some insurance on my bike to ride it. Yes, it's cold, but so sunny , dry and clear.

Enjoy the forums. :)

Hey, Angelo,

I guess we might have it better in the States after all. At least in somethings. 8)

As for price, I would rather not. In my job, I go to a lot of motor vehicle auctions. They're all invite only and if I said how much I paid for my bike, I would probably get flamed for it. It's not any where close to what a regular person would pay for it.

I've been to Torino though it was a few years ago. There is so much to like in your country. I'm glad you can ride.

Anyway, Welcome fellow newbie from Texas.

Blues, I'm sorry that you can't ride. I can take cold but I can't take cold and wet. In my area, when it gets cold, it always is rainy, windy or both. I'm upset that I'm having to take my 'cage' more when I go anywhere.

Thank you! I will enjoy TMW. If only for the fact I can at least talk bikers and biking with knowledgeable people while it rains outside. Also, we have our share of cold weather too. Its 31 F outside right now and I'm taking the truck to work.
