This pic is one I made at the Mid-Ohio race track in about 1999 or 2000.

Should've had all their kids on the scooter too, so they'd really fit in.

You mean the present day Road King looks a lot like Elvis' bike. He had a few Harleys in his day, but the one you're referring to is newer than a '58. It's an FLH model Shovelhead, probably early 70's, and if you look closely you can see a shock absorber on the rear just in front of the saddlebag. You're right about the seat; there was a spring inside a post that the "buddy seat" was mounted on, giving even more comfort when riding over bumps and road imperfections.
The photo was taken in 1972.

Yes Gummiente, the present day Road King. I thought the shock was part of the saddle bag rack and I think the Harley's in the 50's were hard tails. So I thought 1958; but I'm good with an early 70's date. And it's a shovel head. Were the early Harley's called ElectraGlide? The Road King was one of three bikes I was looking at for my first bike.

Another celb who is identified with motorcycles is Steve McQueen.
The bike is claimed as a 'Von Dutch1929 Scott 596cc Super Squirrel Engine no. Y2373A' in the article. It has a flying eyeball painted on it and I like the eye ball.

Ann Margaret is an avid motorcyclist and a very competent one too. She loved Triumphs and even rode one in some of her movies.

But to return to the original photo--is a cape really required for AGATT?

I completely forgot about that! That was epic, brand newbie on a GSX-R1000 with a scarf threatening to get wrapped in the rear wheel...
