New guy from Phuket Thailand

#1 Unread post by Thaibiker »

Hello from Phuket. I am an American guy retired in Thailand. I am from the Seattle area of Washington State. I have had motorcycles for over 30 years. A BSA lightning, Yamaha 650 twin, BMW R85 and a lot of Kawasakis, including three early 70s Z1s, three KZ650s and a KZ1000. In Thailand I have owned an early Virago (bad luck) and now I have a 1987 Yamaha FZ750 Genesis, I am restoring the present Yamaha. It is in pieces all over the carport with some pieces in the paint shop for a total repaint costing about $100. Eat your heart out. All the chrome bits have been replated for about $300. But before I tore it all down the bike would start right up and run great for about 20 minutes and then sput and sputter, die. When it cools off it runs well again. i will post this problem on the forum. I will post a photo or two of the bike when I get it all back together again. Hoping the forum can help me with my mechanical/electrical problems. happy to be here.

Hi1 Welcome to the forum. You'll find we're a helpful bunch around here.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
