Yup, the wheels are going to go through a little change as soon as I get a chance. I plan on a wheel cover on the rear, powdercoated gloss black. I'm still thinking about the front. Do you have any ideas?

Have the rim powdercoated gloss black, and the spokes powdercoated flat black, that way the spokes disappear when your moving.

Due to the black theme, I'm trying to do away with most of the chrome. As far as the Freudian idea... I don't think I have pencil envy for my wheels  I do like the idea of gloss on the rear, and the flat spokes on the front. I don't know how to relace wheels however, and I think they charge an arm and a leg for that. It is something to think about, thanks.

You could do it the easy and cheap way by removing the wheels from the bike, taping off the brake discs, tire sidewalls and other parts you don't want to be painted and then spray paint everything else flat black. If you thoroughly clean the wheel and scuff the finish with a Scotch-Brite pad beforehand, the paint will stick better. It will eventually begin to flake off, but touch ups could be done easily by taping off the area, cleaning it and spray painting it again.
