Getting giddy

Well, I'm starting my Calgary Safety Council course tomorrow evening. I've been looking forward to this for quite a while. My dad decided to take it with me, which is cool. This should be a pretty good weekend, with a solid 20hrs of riding. Hopefully I'll have a blast and will pass the test without too much trouble.

Now to find a decent Honda Hawk 400 or something similar in southern alberta...

You are gonna have such a good time. Just keep your mind open, and enjoy. They take you step by step. Very cool that your dad will be joining you.

Giggity, giggity, gigga-ty!

No, you cannot use your own bike for the begginer course here. They provide you with bikes. They are small (100-250cc range) and vary in style, incl dirt bikes, dual sports, street trainers, etc. There were a number of people who dropped bikes during the course (luckily not me), so it is probably not a good idea to use your own bike anyway.

I will probably do a fair bit of parking lot practice before heading out onto the street after I get my own bike anyway.

Great to hear you did it. Take care on the road and WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER GUY! Don't get crazy out there and ride safe.
