When the bike is the '07 BMW G650Xcountry my wife used to own. Bike started, went several miles, then died. Turned out the battery was toast. Wife bought the bike as NOS, dealer should have replaced the battery, but didn't.
Wow that sucks. Did u complain to the service manager?
Oh, yeah, big time. IIRC, it was considered a warranty replacement. She bought the bike in May '08 and this happened in August '08. As it happens, this particular dealership folded a year later....

Doesn't the G650X have a sky high seat height of like 37" or something? Your wife must have long legs!

For real. That's one reason why it got replaced with a '09 F650GS (the twin cylinder version). I'd be following her, and you'd almost hear the wheels in her brain turn when she pulled up to a stop, "which foot do I put down." There was no question of flatfooting it, she couldn't even get both tip toes down. Bike was very light though, so if it went down it was easy to pick up again (not that I'm saying she ever dropped it.... :whistling: ) It was a cool bike, and lots of fun. If money was no object, we'd still have it.

Ironically, BMW lowered the seat height on the '09 version of the G650X quite a bit.

I give her a lot of credit! :kicking: My KLX is 35" seat height and quite frankly, that is about as tall as I would want a bike.

You have to remember who started riding in that family...

Mrs jstark47 is an excellant rider and a sweetheart as well. Mrs & Mr were both great company for the short time we rode together through the Adirondacks and 1000 islands area of Ontario (where we visited Gummiente and his wonderful wife...) You'll have to ask jstark47 about his other passion sometime... Cameras.
