Nice route from DC to New Jersey ??

I know there are a few of you from New Jersey on this forum. I'm probably taking a trip on my bike to go visit my parents in Marlboro, NJ. I live just west of Washington DC. Can anyone recommend a route that will take 6 hours or less and be 300 miles or less and is more scenic and fun than taking Interstate 95 / NJ Turnpike.

I realize I might be asking for a lot but 70mph on a sportier bike for 4 hours (if I'm lucky with traffic) with not a lot of curves isn't the most fun ride. Just thought I would ask, any advice appreciated :)

That far east I' afraid that you're not going to find anything that isn't predominantly strip malls and traffic lights. The only way to get scenic would be to loop far to the west, and that would add a lot of distance.

RockBottom's pretty accurate I think...you can try taking 301 east to delaware and up to NJ (that road's not particularly "fun" but better than 95 all the way up i suppose)...after that, it's pretty much 295 (which at certain points are crappy workzones) or 95, or the alternative of traffic lights. You can try 130 in nj up to 195 then to Rt. 9. It'll probably take you longer than six hours though unless you leave at 10:00 at night.

I guess I knew in my heart it was a longshot. Thanks for trying guys. I think 95 is better than a straight road with traffic lights. Oh well, at least there'll be some nice roads to ride when I go visit my brother in Albany, NY.
