Possible to get Harley for cheep?
Possible to get Harley for cheep?
I know Harley bikes are very expensive. I'm not looking for a new one. Used one will do me better. Do you I could get a good nuff used Harley for around $3000? And how fast do you think a Harley can go? I know it depends on the bike, but compared to say a car. Even a crappy car can go at least 160 m/h. I heard that some sports bikes can go 500-600 m/h. Darnit that's fast. Is it true?
ps. I guess the riding season has started. I watched few people riding motorcycles today in the city. Man was it sexy. It makes me feel bad for not owing one. I hate myself.

Ha ha ha. Was this a Joke or what? I'm starting to hate you.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Lol ya $3000 is way too low for a Harley. I'm checking it out in my area and even the used ones are minimum $6000. But do you think its wise to get one off ebay? It's a little cheeper on ebay. Would you recommend it?

I'm guessing the squid label is very appropriate at this point...
Have you ever even ridden a bike???
Maybe you should take the MSF course before even looking at a bike, kinda like getting your feet wet before diving in the deep end of the pool....

Take your time and do some research. This is something you do not want to rush into. For someone new you are going to want to start off with a 250cc bike. I would like a Harley too but a used Honda or kawasaki cruiser, they look like Harley's, are just as much fun and inexpensive.man5 wrote:I know Harley bikes are very expensive. But the insurance is a killer. I'm 3 years shy off 25 and owning a sports bike is not a good idea for me. And besides, I want to ride something that I actually like. And of course I'll be taking MSC before I even buy the bike(unless I get a great deal beforehand). I'm a Harley guy. I think it's worth every penny. I have no plans to buy it this summer. I'm still saving up money and I guess the best time would be the near the end of year.
To those that have taken a bike loan, instead of paying it full upfront, do you think it's a wise choice? How much do you pay a month and what's the bike's cost? And isn't the insurance higher if you finance it?

Don't know what it's like at the moment, but Harley had some pretty strong incentives they were offering to get bikes out the door. I think I saw one that said "own a Harley for $100/month" - but please check thoroughly before you leap, both from a financial point of view, and you riding skill point of view.man5 wrote:But the insurance is a killer. As far as insurance goes, it's not that it's more expensive if you finance the bike, it's that you do not have the option to waive some of the coverage because the lender wants to make sure they get their money if you trash the bike. But if you are buying a brand new bike you probably want full collision and comprehensive insurance anyway.

Both my Nissan 93 Altima and my Ducati Monster 1100
I was at the dollar store and they had packages of 10 that's right TEN red flame stickers so I went crazy and I bought ten of them so 20 x 10 = 200
Everyone knows each flame sticker on your motorcycle adds 25% to the top speed 50% Torque and 100% to your Cool Factor.
I have a few stickers left over if anyone wants them just send me a PM

Ducati Monster 1100 (Vrooom!!)
Aprilia Shiver 750 (sold)
2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250cc (sold)
