Think so? Us bikers have been conditioned to accept that 50 000 miles is an acceptable life for a motorcycle. But I disagree. The bikes for the past 25-30 years have been very well designed and built(with the odd exception here and there) and are fully capable of running over 100 000 miles, and running well while doing it. But bikes tend to get abused, neglected or both. Neglete is probably the biggest bike-killer. Poor winter storage, worse spring prep before riding and then little to no maintance until winter storage. It's terrible what some people do to thier bikes and yet they still fire-up and ask for more. It seems like people tend to treat bikes as a disposable toy rather than a real vehicle.Joe Mc wrote:dr_bar wrote:Gee, I turned over 120,000kms awhile back...![]()
120,000 kilometers = 74,564.5431 miles
That's pretty high for a bike!
Just hit 16,000 miles on my '78 Hawk.
Anyways... sorry for the little rant. I'm better now. For now.....
