So i was on my way home from work today and i was riding on one of my scenic fun roads. (no posted limit) so it should have been 55mph, I was going around 60.
Anyway this rabbit comes out of nowhere, and all i feel is a bump bump. I look in my rearveiw mirrors, and I see it on the road all pwned... I totally thought about going back and getting it and then cooking it for dinner, but I didnt.
Just be glad it wasn't a deer. I almost hit a bird once. It was the craziest thing... a bunch of 'em were sitting on the phone wires, and as our line of traffic passed by, they all took off, crossing the road. I had one go right between me and my windshield, I kid you not. Very weird. Glad the "bump" didn't throw off your balance.
Cheers,
Loonette

Try riding in Africa, not only birds and wild animals, but the native African believes that his livestock has right of way. We even get stories of herds of cattle being driven across our highways. There is a radio campaign now telling all motorist that if we hit a pedestrian we will be charged with manslaughter.
Oh, I like holy carp just fine. Maybe holey carp? Haha.
Glad you're OK. Critters are always a challenge. Around here you always have to come up hills a little tentative before coming over the crest. The coons like to pick at dead things in the road and those guys are as big as my front tire!

I can say with absolute certainty... NEVER hit a beaver!!! It is exactly like hitting a big rock, but if you don't kill it, it will come after you as you lay on the ground looking at your wadded-up front wheel. And you probably won't kill it by hitting it with something as small as a motorcycle. You need a truck for that.
