Okay for the last day or two the reservoir next to my front brake lever has been leaking fluid. I saw it and noticed that it was not very tight, so I gave it a turn or two. Wiped it clean and came out a bit later to find that near the top where the seal connects to the reservoir, there is a substance 360 degrees around the seal. Wiped it clean and went to bed. Woke up this morning and went out to check it and much to my dismay there was more substance 360 degrees around the seal. So today I called Ducati and the mechanic said that he would not be able to look at it until the first of
August. Or I could have the owner check it out Monday or Tuesday.
Shortly after that my neighbor came down and I told him what was going on. Turns out he was really big into motorcross. So I showed him the problem and he came up with 2 things.
1. The seal isn't sealing up completely.
2. It is very hot outside. (98 degrees outside and the bike is in a garage mind you. So that ups the temp a bit.) The heat is evaporating the fluid and the seal is not keeping the fluid in. Hence the substance around the seal.
We checked my dads bike and his brake fluid tank was dry and fluid free around the seal.
In conclusion me and my neighbor are almost sure that the seal is bad. If the seal was functional, the heat should not cause the fluid to come out around the seal.
Give me your .02 on this.

You can try taking the cap off the resevior and inspecting the rubber diaphram/seal in the cap for rips and tears, as well as making sure it is in proper position. Also check that the fluid level is not too high, it needs some airspace to expand into for temp changes, that's why the seal will have a bulge/bubble/airspace in it, to allow for this expansion.
If I just bought a new bike (especially a nice, new Duc) I would be camping out on the dealers doorstep until they fixed it, loudly telling anyone and everyone who passed about thier wonderful customer service. But I'm a little.....

Try posting the pics to Total Motorcycle. Probably don't need pics however. You have a bad seal probably or a crack in the fluid cover. Brake fluid eats paint so make sure none drips or spills.
I'm with Buzz. I'd be at the dealership night and day til they fixed it.

Yeah I would be at the Ducati Dealership but they are closed tomorrow. There is about a 20% chance I will be able to take it on Monday. Can't take it on Tuesday. After Tuesday the owner will be out of town. So that is worthless. Oh yeah to top it all off. They have 1 mechanic. ONE! UNO! UNI! SINGLE! HOW JACKED UP IS THAT. AND EVEN MORE ICING ON THE CAKE, HE WILL BE OUT OF TOWN UNTIL THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST! IF THEY DON'T TAKE CARE OF THIS... Woah buddy.
They had better 'GIT-R-DONE'
I am stark raving mad right now!
