Re: What did you do today...
decided i am definitely not buying from the local HD dealership. quoted me $6499 for the Buell, which isn't a bad price at all for a brand new one, but still want to charge me over $1700 in fees, including freight and set-up fees on a 2009 bike that already has 68 miles. i'm sorry, but if it's already been ridden for a couple hours then i'm not going to pay for all the fees like it's fresh out of the box.
and i actually think he told me the out-the-door price would be $9200 so that'd be $2700 in fees, but that seems way out of control, even for the local HD stealership. $1700 seems just high enough to be right for them, so i think i musta misheard him saying $8200. either way, think i'm gonna buy the 2010 used one from Florida for $5500 instead. 68 miles or 400 miles, the critical part of the break-in has already passed and whatever i do is essentially meaningless.

Got up.
Well, what else do you expect. It's Saturday! (And a bank holiday weekend. Yeah!)

(yesterday) Another trip to Atlanta for Julies second injection. Harley's last day of school.
About 1:00 am I became a new uncle again. My brothers second son, Aidyn, was born. Now I'm trying to wake up so I can go to the hospital to see them.

Finally got Connie to the shop today, work ordered to be done:
Fix or replace the starter
Install wider grips on the handlebars
Tune up, including replacing all fluids
Replace broken right reflector
Check brakes and repair/fix as required, judging from the pulsing feed back I am getting off my non-ABs brakes, I suspect one of the front rotors is warped
Check valves and adjust as required
Give the bike a good look over to see what else needs fixing or replacing
And give is wash and a polish.....gonna have to get a bike cover, the dust from my underground parking is getting bad.
But I did forget to ask them to set the pre-load to Fat bastrd, will have to get them to do it when I talk with them in a weeks time.
Should get her back on the 15th, which is PAYDAY!!!!!!
Also picked up a new pair of lighter summer riding gloves
Always ask why.

I sat then upside down on a heater so they would be dry inside for tomorrow's ride.

Ooohhhh Ceemes called you old! Are you gonna take that from him!?!?!?
CANUCK FIGHT!
Went to a BBQ today, helped a friend pick out a new helmet (for drag racing his 'Vette, anything under 14 sec has to have a helmet around here).
Then helped another friend pick out a duck call for his car. Yeah you read that right. haha Something a lot of guys running turbos has been doing is fastening a duck call to their blow-off valves. So now instead of going rrrrrRRRRRRRRRRR PPSSSHHHH it goes rrrrRRRRRRRRR QQQQUUUUAAAACCCCKKKKK
