2 condersers are they the same

#1 Unread post by rapidblue »

there are two condensers on my bike that need replacing, they list two different part numbers but they shoudl be the same right?

The only thing I can think of would be reversed mounting bracket but otherwise the same right?

Ignition condensers? Like on a dual piont system? I can think of no good reason they could not be interchangeable with each other, mounting tab or wire length issues you mentioned aside.

I dunno, maybe one set of pionts runs at a different amperage or dumps into the second or some funky crud like that, but I can't see it.....

Me and my buddy used to use the old chevy condensers on our old piont fired RD's, they looked and worked identical to the OEM parts. Mostly his bikes, I quickly learned the 350LC with cdi was the way to go for me. He went through about 7 bikes in 3 years. All early 70's versions. Then he would crash one(ok, I helped  ) and get another to replace it.....
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

the reason I ask is because there are two for sale one ebay but they are both the same part # asn the book calls for two different part #.

I can't really see why there would be a difference on this hunk of sh%t bike.(j/k I love my non-running driveway ornament)
