Thanks guys!
I couldn't find the oil tank for a while but you can see in the last pic its hidden up there in front of the gas tank (staring me in the face lol). Hyperr says that the frame is the oil tank. I had never seen that before. Anyway it makes putting oil in much easier.

hehe - I'm pretty sure Hondas come with flower smell coming out of their tail pipes! The guy down the street must have sold his as it hasn't been on the street. Ultimately, I like the FZ6, but there are some shortcomings that I'd like to address. ABS is one. The forks are a bit chattery when I brake on uneven surfaces. Hmmm, that might be it. Probably not enough to make me really run out and buy another bike.

I've been racking up the miles and rides on the FZ6 and perhaps that is the best tell tale that maybe I should keep it. :) I'll start a thread at some point if I figure out what the hell it is I want.

Congratulations! And yeah Hyperr is right, the frame is the oil tank. Actually somewhat common on dual-sports. Awesome looking bike though!

The frame is being used as an oil tank is most likely because the engine is a dry sump design.

This design feature allows for more ground clearance over rough terrain.
There is no such thing as a bad motorcycle.

Yep it's a dry sump.

Since the dipstick is also right in front of you between the gas cap and the top triple clamp, it's also a good reminder to check your oil more often. :)

Too quiet is not good, at least when it comes to the sweet exhaust sound of a thumper.

Nothing sounds more like a motorcyle, than a big thumper. :exactly:

I spose it sounds very uncool to like a quieter engine but what I meant is, it has a kind of thumping-humm, a purr that is so feline and so sweet to me -esp compared to the tinny sound of my old bike.
