oh oh. now look what you've done  -- once Highside rides a mini, he will spend all winter convincing his wife to sell the Monster so that they can buy a pair of MetraKit 80s to race

It'll be good exercise to limber up your back muscles too, right? And you can bring the kiddies to the track to ride the XR50s and such... it becomes a family affair...

or maybe this neat Metra-Monster :-) would be an easier sell to the wife:

Ya know, Clint McBain has raced the MetraKit for kicks. You'd be following in the footsteps of our local champ. There are race photos of him on the AMRA website from the preseason April test'n'tune (www.amra.ca).

Your beer money will finance the rest of the race gear & goodies and you'll be healthier for it! have fun keeping away from the mini circuit now (but take solace in that $5 MotoGP bet, as it appears Kenny is still getting his butt whipped by Hopkins. He subtely mentions in the Laguna interviews that it's been a real drag developing the Suzuki over the past years and he's lost his motivation.)

good luck with the miniracing... they are headed to Saskatoon this weekend... i may tag along if i can figure out how to dodge a little more work...

One further note on minis to consider for racing... XR100/DR100s etc are decent price, but a bit spindly and not quite in the same league as the other bikes... they do run there own class though, and you could also ride it in the dirt when not racing minis, and do some mini dirt tracking.

I heard that Blackfoot has a pretty good price on the NSR50s (i had posted some pix of JR MacRae #27 on his NSR), and although the MetraKit is definitely a higher quality bike with better chassis and build quality the NSRs are pretty good bikes to mini race... otherwise the best deal is build your own bike from a liquid-cooled motocrosser or some guys have taken 125 roadracers (the hot ticket chassis wise) and dropped newer 80/85cc MX engines in them. Fast.
