I was looking over my bike yesterday and saw this gash in my tire. The tire only has 3800 miles on it and is the stock tire on a 2009 Kawasaki er-6n. Can anyone tell if this looks just cosmetic or should I be more concerned? Should I be replacing the otherwise good tire?

Re: Gash in Tire
How deep is it? Stick a business card or something similar to measure the depth.

Re: Gash in Tire
That looks like a defect in the tire. I don't think anything cut it with how ragged those edges are. I assume you had the tire put on at a shop, take it in there and ask them about it, what they can do for you to help you out.
EDIT: On the bright side at least you've got some extra tread now!
