Hi. I have recently purchased a VT400 Shadow American Classic. These bikes are fully imported to Australia from Japan. My beauty is Red and Black with the two exhaust pipes joining to a single. The bike carries 2010 Compliance for Australia, however, I do not know the year of manufacture or first year of registration in Japan. I am curious if anyone knows how I could find out, or if this particular colour scheme was made in any particular years. I would love to know more about the history of these bikes.
I am a 'Learner' and indeed, have a lot to learn....one thing I know already though is riding this baby is something I look forward to everyday...
thanks for any help....

Re: VT400 shadow
Yes the 10th digit of the VIN is the year. Thus your vehicle is a 2004 model.standingdog wrote:The vin is 6U9000NC341003750

Re: VT400 shadow
Hey, did a search around...
Hyperr is right with the year of course.
It was made specifically for Australia.
It is a limited production model. Has 500 or less production units.
It was built in plant number 1, so whatever that means I honestly don't know.
And it's serial number is 750.

Hey Wrider. That is great info. Gives me something to research further. Not sure how though!
I think there is a Shadow club out there...might check it out.
Thanks to you and Hyperr.
