Well its been raining on & off for now for the past month. Nothing really serious though. I haven't been doing any twisty riding. Just riding to work. Mostly the DRZ and the XT. We put my brothers new chain on his DRZ and from what he says it makes a huge difference because his old chain was totally stretched out. Now he's borrowing my XT for the moment because his rear tire on his Z is "poo poo". I've also got to get in touch with Regina's friend who has a bike trailer and see if I can hitch rides to the track.




On a side note. Here's a picture from the 2k9 San Mateo Moto Show. It's Mission Motorcycles electric motorcycle. When they rev'd it up it sounded like an RC car.

I haven't updated in awhile. Its good to finally be back on. I've been doing a mix of riding lately. Hmmm, let me see. I did a two day dirt bike camp in Orland in May.


A lot of fun. I haven't rode dirt since I was a kid. Now I want to get a dirt bike too .



The camp consisted of skills practice, oval practice, then a full on moto-x course with jump, berms, etc...

In early July I attended a Supermoto School that focused on the dirt aspect of Sumo. I had a blast.


This was a fun little jump that you had to hit just right. If you didn't you would end up going over the other side and crashing into a chain link fence. Which I almost did.

The class consisted of beginning dirt drills with body positioning riding small ovals then we progressed to the larger TT oval when everybody was comfortable sliding. I've been to a regular sumo school but I really liked this one because it was all focused on dirt skills rather than asphalt. After taking this school I want a dirtbike even more. I would just have to get some supermoto rims and tires for the sumo tracks so I can ride both dirt and sumo. After the TT oval we ended the day riding a full on moto-x track on the sumo tires. Lots of fun. The only thing that sucked was the track temp was around 118 degrees so you would drink a ton of water and not have to go to the bathroom.

We scored some free tickets to Laguna Seca Raceway for the Moto-GP event. I still marvel on how loud those freaking machines are. The thing that sucks is that Laguna Seca only has Moto-GP they don't cover Moto2 or the 125's. I think that's unfair that only Indianapolis gets to have the classes such as Moto2 etc. Laguna should have them too.


This was the moto 2 bike Hayden's brother rode in Indianapolis. A beautiful thing for sure!

The weather was perfect for our track day at Thunder Hill. 80 degrees with a slight cool breeze. I had a ton of fun. One thing that has hit me the more I get on the track is that when you get to a certain level of riding reference points become very important in bringing down your lap times. Awhile back I never really paid attention to them because I was just having so much fun but then you start wanting to bring down your lap times and the more important braking markers, turn-in points, & reference points become.

I've been teaching two new guys how to ride on my XT225. It feels good teaching others and seeing them get that satisfaction of riding a motorcycle like I do. You can always see it in a beginners eyes of how much fun they're having. They'll be taking the MSF and there should be no reason why theses guys wont pass. I went over everything they cover in the MSF so they should be well prepared.

On a funnier note below someone donated this awesome toy bike to one of our recreation centers.

I was thinking to myself who would know about moto communication in the two wheeled world? Of course, the adventure riders would know what's best in communication since they use it the most.

Great set up, low profile, durable, long battery life, easy to use & pair up with other blue tooth items, pairs easily with iphone, lower cost, waterproof, the only cons to me are that you can only pair 3 other things. So that means a total of 4 people can only talk with each other. But how many times will you be riding with 4 people. Mainly it will be used for two person communication and my phone & Ipod.



Conclusion: From what I've read is that there is nothing but good reviews on the Sena.

I've read that http://www.rocketmoto.com has the best customer service.

The price of the system is $259.99 for two people!!! Thats a great price for "blu toot". I also got
SENA Clamp Kit + Flat Mic & 3.5 Input (Use Your Own Buds) which run for $35 bucks but this enables you to use your own ear buds or use the stock speakers which ever you want to set up in your helmet. By ordering from rocket moto you lose about $20 bucks compared to ordering from Mr. Hit but I heard Mr. Hit has terrible customer service and that rocketmoto goes out of their way to make you a happy camper. To me you cant beat customer service especially if you get sold a lemon as some people have. Which is normal in any product. I'd rather not have a hassle in getting a replacement rather than waiting two weeks for a response.
