Thanks guys for your input. Also are running boards hard to get used to? How so they work? A guy at the dealer said use left heel to upshift and left toe to downshift. Is this correct?

Floor boards are definitely comfortable...but they touch down too soon for my tastes.

You are correct about the heel/toe shifter...another thing I don't care for. Luckily you can still use it traditionally, too.

Ooooh I like the sexy look of the M50, but I think my first choice would be the C50, the S50 doesn't even come into consideration in my mind.

i dont like the thing stuck on the sode of the motor covering the jugs though. i herd its easy to rip them off on most bikes, i like to see the motor not some big faux chrome junk covering it up.

The S50 and S83 look a lot different in person (as do most bikes). I never liked the S83 until I sat on one in a showroom.

So are you saying that you can run the C-50 w/o floorboards? Then I suppose you have to change foot controls?

the c50 doesnt come with the heal/toe shifter does it? you can have normal gear shifter With floorboards. if it has a normal shifter im sure it would be easy to replace the floorboard with a normal peg using the same control

The one I sat on today @ the dealer sure had them. I didn't ask if they were standard equipment. I just assumed they were.

Floorboards and heel/toe shifter are standard on the C50. As for switching them out...well...anything can be done for a price, but if floorboards and heel/toe aren't your style, then neither is the C50. Take a closer look at the S50 and M50.

You can obviously replace and sell the floorboard separately. A heel/toe shifter is commonly used with floorboards because it becomes difficult to get your toe under the shifter easily. It is in fact possible to use the heal/toe shifter without floorboards.

So you're looking at about $100 more for OEM rider pegs. But you might be able to make up most of that selling the boards on e-bay.

That's assuming you don't want them in the first place.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
