your bike looks a lot nicer than mine does tho :P poor college student + no garage = not happy bike :(

ill just measure my frame, that is quick... why didnt i think of that sooner ?
:frusty:
you only need a Tiny bit of water i mean less than an ounce to be effective, let alone a 3-4 gallong tank lol. still i just cant see any Reason other than it hasnt been done, but i mean noones took a trash truck and put a computer in it why not do that?

Here is a guy who had a motorcycle computer idea -

well, somebody did put a computer into a model truck
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=62978
but a whole garbage truck? if a few of my friends and i pitched in and got an old garbage truck we could set up a mobile lan party, it would be awsome... now im thinking again... that is bad.

i found a site that sells motorcycle tank computers http://www.thinktankpc.com/thinktank.html
but im sure i could come up with a more original and interesting design using authentic tanks

ya, and i was realizing that the tank would be huge for a resevoire, so i thought compartmentalizing it and putting the power supply in there as well

i was definetly planning on running the wires through the frame, which would mean extending the wires etc, not that that is a problem. but i would keep the water piping probably exposed. 1) because i like seeing the water pipes, and 2) the frame tubing is probably too small to carry large enough water piping to allow enuff water flow.

OOP! my class is starting (i love educational wireless) so i gotta start paying attention, i swear ill get some sketches soon, tho they look horrible, they might as well have been drawn by a 2 year old :|

-thx again for all the discussion

i still need to see a sketch of what a frame computer would look like. in my mind i see a massive bare frame with a hand full of computer parts hanging off it just doenst look cool. maybe you have something in mind to make it cool that id need to see to get it.

the frame would be plenty big enough to run water pipes you only need a pencil thick hose.

the problem with a pencil-thick hose is that it does not let very much water through, my cooling would be severely limited.

im afraid a picture from me would NOT make the case look any better than you are imagining it, i would definetly put some sort of siding on the side that will hold the mother-board. i would probably end up putting a side door on the opposite side as well. and naturally windows and lights galore, yet tasteful.

im thinking the siding would be welded inline with the tubing, not inside or outside, so wheather you are looking at the inside or outside of the case the motorcycle frame is apparent.

the hoses dont need to be big at all, i mean Really as long as you have a strong enough pump (60gph) youll move enough water to cool it, the size of the hose isnt as important. with thinner hose you can use less coolant and have higher preasure in there to keep it at a higher flow through the radiator. a thick hose would just be real over kill for a machine thats in a nice big open area. its not like your cramming it in a tight case to hold the heat anyways. you also made no mention of specs to even need the extra liquid cooling. take a look at a real efficient liquid cooling system like the newest powermac g5 and youll see the piping is small(also copper).

that looks like a nice compact setup, and those copper pipes look like heat pipes to me but i may be wrong.
i have not decided on the internals, they will be high performance without a doubt possibly dual processor probably amd 64 FX, or their top of the line at the time, and as quiet as possible. :D
the radiator will probably be huge, possibly even 2, the less air i have to force to move the better.

this project is definetly heavy on the thinking side, if i am going to have the heaviest case managable, it better be worth it :P

In fact, modern trash trucks are almost completely controlled by computer ( I know, not a pc), with minimal driver input for many common functions, including pickup and re-placement of large residential containers. Automated trash trucks have been around since the 60's and computers have been in them for many years now. My truck has a completely computer-controlled automatic 5 speed transmission, with selectable modes. Bottom line, if you don't know, you shouldn't say, or at least pick on a field that really isn't sophisticated, instead of one that's stereotypically unsophisticated.

Aren't you glad you asked? Sounds like a fun project for a guy who builds his own computers...post pics when you get it figured out.
ok i didnt say anything about using a computer to control the truck, i was saying put a personal computer in thr trash truck then use it as your desktop computer. dont have to get all defensive about your trash truck lol. i could have easly said a dump truck instead. either way the idea of putting a personal computer in it for personal reasons(eliminating all use of the trucks original purpose) makes no sense.
I know, I'm sorry. I've had a rough week, and should have just kept that to myself. I'm deleting it.
