Oh, I forgot you asked a question - practice slow speed maneuvers for several sessions - like our instructor told us - anyone can go fast on a motorcycle. Keeping all that weight under control and balanced when you are moving slow is the hard part. Don't push it for a few days and stay away from traffic until you get the hang of the clutch and the balance and you'll be fine.

I picked up the bike this afternoon and I've been taking my first rides. I started out by practicing starting, stopping, and slow speed turns for awhile. Ronbosk650sr, the information on the ridelikeapro.com site was very useful. Then I ventured out on the paved country roads around my house, and had my neighbor follow me. About thirty miles later, I was starting to believe I'd made the right choice learning to ride. More back roads tomorrow morning, when there is no traffic. What a thrill for an old fart!
