And then on that Wrider guy again for casting aspersions on my small but perfectly-formed island ("Over by Europe" he says - another grand Westpondian example of geographical sophistication!!!!!!).

And what, I ask, is the United States anyway if it isn't just a part-share landlord on another island over by Cuba?

And thank you blues; as a matter of fact I do have considerable influence as a british citizen - over my grand-daughters anyway, though that probably has more to do with the contents of my chocolate drawer than the wording in my passport.

And besides Puerto Rico is getting the short end of that stick. We've offered them state-hood but they'd rather remain a commonwealth, paying taxes but not having the right to vote...
Mind if I hate on the capital of the US too? I hate that our capital is not in a state but in a commonwealth (District of Columbia) that is small enough it never will be able to have the population to become a state.
