Due to circumstances that are temporary, I haven't been riding my bike at all. My motorcycle is parked at a friend's place for safe keeping while I am living temporarily in the suite where I am. I don't have access to the garage here and I don' want my bike parked outside subjected to the bad weather.
I sold my condo and moved into this suite temporarily at the end of November. The people upstairs asked if I would stay until end of March or April because they would be away. So, I agreed to be here a little bit longer than originally planned.

Anyway.....a week ago I contacted a realtor and am now in the process of looking for my next place. The realtor knows I must have a garage or covered secure parking. The only reason I sold my place and moved south of the river is because my job moved to Cloverdale. The commute was killing me.

The realtor has been sending me lots of listings via internet and then I go through them to nix or yeah them. Next week, we'll be going in person to see some of the ones I think look ok.

As most of you know.....almost 4 years ago, I was involved in a crash. Although my injuries were not catastrophic, I had to change jobs and am still living with the pain. I finally received a bit of cash and have settled my law suit. I could have gone to court for more, but that would have meant another year to year and a half to wait and put up with the ICBC slime ball lawyer. I accepted the offer at mediation.

Because I was anticpating settling, I started looking for a new vehicle. My old car is 17 years old and although still runs great; it is only a matter of time that it will cause me grief and iconvenience. I wouldn't be as concerned if my job were easily accessible by transit.
So...I did some test drives, had a couple of rentals, did a lot of research on line., etc. and finally decided on.....

I can only be in it for a short time yet because of the off gassing from the new materials and the protective sprays that were used. I am highly sensitive to chemicals and some fragrances and get sore eyes and throat, etc....I had the windows open today and then left the windows open for a few hours while it sat in the driveway.
I know a lot of people love that "new car smell".....but what it means is toxic fumes are "off gassing".....it will dissipate in time.

Today while I was driving along; just cruising at the speed limit; I noticed a big pick up truck keeping pace but at a distance behind me. Finally the truck changed lanes and pulled beside me and was keeping my pace in the next lane....It was odd...so I finally looked over and saw the 2 people ogling my car.... I guess they had not seen one yet and were interested in what it was.

I met my friends drbar and his lady for supper last night and I showed up in my old car. drbar's arms raised into the air as if to say WTF?

When I told him about the off gassing he immediately understood. I will only have my old car for a short time more. A friend wants to buy it....but he is sick this week....so as soon as he is better, we'll do the paperwork and then he can take the Tempo home.
I would not have got very much for a trade in so I decided to let him have the car for cheap. It's got fresh oil in it....and good tires on it....and there is no rust anywhere. The heater works, the air conditioniong works and........it even comes with a tape deck.

Although I had to scrape frost off the windows while the car warmed up....the mirrors cleared themselves.

The car even gave me a warning....beep....Roads may be icy......

I was talking to a friend while I was driving...both hands on the steering wheel. The car came blue tooth equipped so it paired with my phone...just a one button touch on the steering wheel to answer or hang up.

If I weren't so busy looking for a new place to live, I'd be washing the car. It's dirty already. :( Darn rain, snow and hail and dirty roads)
