when the cop is Not in uniform how do you know hes a cop. so youll stop and assume the position if anyone holding a gun is yelling at you?Aggroton wrote:i agree with wolf...however...
if you run from the cops you are going to get shot. terrorist or not...if a cops gun is drawn he is intending to use it and that alone should be respected.

That depends - plenty of good marksmen can't hit a moving target with a handgun from 25 feet away... and most people aren't good marksmen. So, I guess it depends on how far away they are.Aggroton wrote:your seriously gonna start running if someone has a peice pointed at you?

Over here, having someone point a gun at you is still a very rare event. It's not something we think about or plan for. If it happens, there's no teling how people might react in the heat of the moment. I wouldn't know what I would do.Aggroton wrote:your seriously gonna start running if someone has a peice pointed at you?

They don't have to be good, just lucky, and if they fire more than one round, it only takes getting lucky with one.
I was a sniper in the service. I can guess that because of the lack of weapons in the UK that the Police that do have them are extremely highly trained. If they are half as good as I suspect, then they will more than likely hit what they aim at.
I personally have drooped a running buck at 120 yards with a .44 that had a 6 inch barrell. Most people couldn't have made that shot, but I practice. You should see what I can do with an 8 mm Mauser.
Whether its the cops or a rogue band of armed ciminals, when they scream "freeze!" and point alot of guns at you, then you freeze or be removed from the gene pool.

i guess someone thats never been held up at gun point, or never lived in an area where being robbed at gun point is pretty common would only think cops have guns. for me though id run no question, a guy in plain clothes pulling a gun on me doesnt make me think cop. id take my chances of someone hitting a moving target with a hand gun(not easy). sure they practice but in real situations is not like the movies where they can fire one shot and take you down.bennettoid wrote:cb360 wrote:

I have had to think about it because I lived in a nice area between two drugs/gun problem neighbourhoods in Nottingham and have a couple of skirmish weapons which look like the real thing even up close.
I assume that anyone pointing a gun at me will pull the trigger, I also am quite willing to accept that I am neither bullet proof or faster than a bullet.
I am also aware that I could perform a 1 1/4" grouping at 25m when I was 14.
Basicly, I dont want to be shot by anyone, criminal or police officer, so I intend to be as co-operative as possible.
