Mileage on two single cylinder questions

#1 Unread post by flw »

I read a review of Suzuki DR200SE with mileage claim of 105 mpg and a Yamaha TW200 with a claim of 78 mpg.

I know it depends on riding style and weight of rider. What is the real world expected milage?

This is with the same weight of the rider and same style of riding on the road only. I weigh 210 and am not hard on the throttle with no off road riding. Just riding point a to point b.

DR200 mpg ?

TW200 mpg ?

Does the DR200 have those skinny tires on it? And the TW200 has the fat tires on it. Everything over 50mpg is a give away, I'll take the TW200 please.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Yes the Yamaha has the fat front tire and the Suzuki has the narrow front tire.

I like the look of the Yamaha but want to be sure the mpg is close to each other and not what some guy posted on the net.

Quite honestly they'll both get way over 50 MPG. I'm guessing the TW will get less due to that absurdly wide (but very grippy) rear tire, probably around 60 MPG, and the Suzuki will probably get around 65-70 MPG in the real world.
