Holy road debris Batman!

#1 Unread post by HYPERR »

This is why I never tailgate, and avoid being behind a tall vehicle that I cannot see in front of like the plague. This is the worst situation as she is blocked in by two trucks. If you are stuck behind a tall vehicle, always leave room so you can see ahead of that vehicle and pass or change lanes as soon as possible.

Once I was on a GL1200 and it was night and a pickup truck in front of me kicked up a car muffler that must've fallen off and abandoned. It hit the engine guard in front of the left cylinder and it dented in and pushed it back almost against the cylinder head. If you know the GL1200 engine guards, you will know it would take some force to dent it and push it back like that. Had I been on any other bike other than the Goldwing or a BMW Boxer, my left leg would have been destroyed. Another reason I almost never ride at night. :?
