The shop finally got in its first BMW K1200s (aka: the busa killer) and all I can say is oh my freakin god, it is amazing. it is very narrow, but very comfortable, and very very fast, but not like the Japanese reckless fast, this bike is just as fast, (actually faster than most of them) and it is sooooo easy and forgiving to ride. All I can say is that if you get a chance go down and look at this bad a$$ bike.

that's a K1200R Muz

Basically a naked K1200S

And Pyro, before you buy one, you might want to make sure that it is one that has had the defective crankshaft replaced.

We'll see. Never underestimate the Japanese, and about all Suzuki and Kawasaki have to do is pull the plug on the 186 mph speed limiter and it will get interesting fast. Not to mention the V-5 Honda allegedly waiting in the wings.
What does the BMW weigh? Historically, they stumble over their own weight, making horsepower meaningless.

Both the S and naked models look great. How I'd love to own a BMW. Next new bike definitely will be.

Must be nice to work at the BMW dealership.

I think everybody should own one big BMW. It changes the way you look at everything afterwards. For me, it was a love-hate feeling. Loved the looks, hated the weight. Loved the wind protection, hated poor tire wear and front tire cupping in 1500 miles, every time. Loved the durable feel of the thing, hated expensive services. The BMW was also the only bike I ever owned that burned oil. Not much, but a quart every thou miles. It was a 1994 K1100RS.
All in all, I'd rather have a Honda or Yamaha for the long haul. But that's just me.

Interesting they are pitching it as a sport-tourer, just like the Booosa, But I don't think I've ever seen a Booosa w/ saddle bags on it like in Gryph's pic. That's BMW, always practical

Dry Weight is 515lbs compared to the Booosa's 474. Not too bad. It's got less power too, so it ain't no booosa killer.
