I had a SRX6, I loved that bike and should have never sold it. Sold it to a guy who was going to race it in the singles class. He was also somehow capable of kicking that bike to life on the first kick each and every time. It never started for me on the first kick. :?
Last year, Hondagirl and I were driving to a restaurant and I saw from the corner of my eyes a mint SRX6 with a for sale sign on it. We couldn't stop because we were on our way to meet some people. I drove by the next day and it was already sold.

Yeah you almost never see one for sale as they only brought them over here in the states for one year (1986) and it was never a good seller as an unfaired sporting big thumper was not what most Americans wanted. The kick start only was definitely a deterrant for many I assume. When the temp was cold and it has not been started in a long time, I would have to kick it like 30 times to get it to start. :heat: Also despite having a compression release, if it was way off TDC it would give you a nasty kickback as well. It was so fun to ride though and the exhaust note was intoxicating. :D Nothing says motorcyle more than the sound of a big thumper.

I imagine they would have sold a few more in the US if they had put the fairings on it like the 250. Yammy seemed to have been a little mixed up with these two bikes. Electric start and fairings for the 250, kick start and no fairings for the bigun. Maybe if they switched those around they might have sold a few more. Or just stuck with fairings for both of em.

I've seen a girl in my MC class hurt her ankle pretty bad from a cb500 (or maybe it was a xs 650 can't remember) when it kicked back on her. She was lucky the bike was held on to a lift or she would have fallen with it on top of her. So I can imagine what a big ol thumper like that could do to your leg.

Almost got her done. New points and condenser are installed and adjusted. I had to go back and fix the leak around the petcock. I also installed another petcock on the other side of the tank for the other carb. The Napa petcock and the T connecter (think one into two fuel lines) was not evenly distributing fuel to both carbs. I am not gonna spend $50 for an original petcock so rigged up $5 dollar petcocks it shall be. I believe that this should fix all my problems. But I've said that before.
