Waving at people on scooters

oddly enough, the harley guys usually wave, it's the sport bike guys that don't

Have you ever had someone blink their lights at you instead of waving? I just waved back, but isn't headlight/horn sgnaling mean something? (forgive the noob)

And I have to say most sportbike guys wave at sportbikes and most cruiser harley guys only wave at cruisers. I wave at everybody

i have to say i agree with Bike Phreak, i've seen more cruiser to cruiser and SB to SB waves than anything else...i have a cruiser and i wave at everyone, but i get more return waves from the cruisers...my boyfriend has a SB and he calls us cruiser riders snobs because he says he gets more waves from other SB riders!

we were on a ride together the other day, passed three guys on SB with my boyfriend leading, he waved at them and they all waved back, but when i waved, they all put their hands back on their bikes! biker snobs are really irritating...

i say, wave at everyone! you may just make someone's day!

I was riding into town the other day and there was a cruiser coming the other direction. Soon as I put my hand out to wave instead of just not waving back, he actually pulled his hand off his grip and put it in his lap. I felt like throwing my helmet at him.

yea , life sure does have a lot of bottoms in it.

Basically, if you wave at anyone and they see you, they should acknowledge by waving back, knodding, whatever. I dont really care if they're riding a bicycle , a scooter, a moped, a motorcycle, or doing a crabwalk down the side of the road, just wave back or acknowledge, because if you dont, you're an "O Ring". end of story.

But yea, there are a lot of bottoms. Oh well.

Riding my classic Honda I seem to get waves from everyone, sport bikes, cruiser, standards, enduro's, scooters. Pretty much everyone but the Harley clowns.

Sometimes I think this waving thing gets out of hand.

On days when there are alot of bikes out I feel like I'm waving all the time. I've even seen guys waving at me from across a 4 lane highway with a 50' meridian in the middle!

I try to wave back as much as I can or give nod but I just can't keep up with them all.

that reminds me, i have an old Jeep CJ and there is a similiar wave . Usually its fine because you dont see them on the road that much. But If i take it to a jeep show or something, sometimes i see a row of 10+ cj's. Am i supposed to wave to all of them?

I get people waving when I'm stopped at a light and both hands are occupied. I either nod or hold the clutch in with thumb and index finger and wave with the other three.

I was the asshat on the other end of that deal once. Saw a bike stopped at an intersection while I was making a left. Waved to him, and the car in front of the car in front of me stopped to make a right hand turn RIGHT after the intersection. Nearly rearended someone. I felt like an idiot.

I like to wave at little kids when they wave. Whether they're walking, or in a car, or on a bike, anything. It's always nice when you can see the smile on some little kid's face when you make his day.

Just today coming home from work, there was a kid sitting in between to older guys in a truck. He turned around and saw me and waved like a maniac. I waved back and he thought that was the coolest thing. I passed them outside of town, the guy in the driver seat even had a smile as I passed and waved to the kid again.

Recently I've been discouraged regarding the whole waving thing. I can't remember the last time I was waved to by anyone who wasn't on a sport bike. Because of this, I find myself waving to less and less people.

The only exception is the ocasional wave from Goldwingers.
