As to the blood / marrow... I donate blood and I'm on the bone marrow registry...

While motorcycle touring, what would you prefer???

A. Pup tent
B. Tent trailer
I'll throw in a C. choice too...

C. Motel/hotel
A or B, I would pick pup tent. No way I would pull a trailer. If I include the ringer question, then I choose C as I like to ride with minimal cr@p on my bike and I like the comfort of a clean comfortable room when I retire for the night.

Which do you think is more impressive?

A. The introduction of amazing transportation technolgy of the late 1960s, such as the Boeing 747, The Concord, The Bullet Train, Locheed SR71 Blackbird, and of course Apollo 11 landing on the Moon.

or

B. The creation of the World Wide Web in 1991 which changes the Internet (also a product of the late 1960s) forever and forever.

Well, I would have to say the WWW because:
a: all the others you listed were just basically upgraded versions of early 20th century technology.
b: the WWW has changed the way we communicate, exchange information, and do business. It was a major shift in the world paradigm.

If you had to give up one, which would it be?

A: You computer and internet

B: You HDTV and cable/satellite service.
Always ask why.

Well that's quite difficult as both contributed. Hugely. My vote would have to go to the early Greeks for their phillosophy & love of the written word.

On a similar theme.....

A). Pyramids ......or......

B) Machu Pichu? (Apologies for spelling)

The unfathomable abuse of slaves ( :( ) notwithstanding, the Pyramids hands down. Considering the time period, the engineering accomplishment of building the Pyramids is absolutely mind boggling.

Which is more intriguing?

A. Greek Gods and Mythology?

or

B. Roman Gods and Mythology?

Actually, while the use of slaves to build the pyramids happened, those slaves were usually captured POWs or convicted criminals. The truth was they were built mainly by skilled hired labour. They were in many way the first of Government sponsored mega-projects designed to show off the wealth and skill of the nation while providing employment to the the masses and generating massive economic spin offs. And it worked. Entire villages were created to house and support the work force and the skills and trades required to build them were passed down from father to son. When you consider the skills needed to build such monuments, you quickly realize that you could not do it with slave labour. On a related note, contrary to the bible story of the Exodus, there is very little mentioned in the surviving Egyptian records regarding the Jews. And the Egyptians were great ones for keeping record of even the most mundane of statistics.

As for the question, I have to go with A. The Greeks were the originators of that Mythology and the Roman just copied it word for word, although they did change the names of the Titans, Gods, Demi-Gods and Heros. Again, that is what was where the Romans true genius lay, in their ability to copy and make their own other peoples ideas, technology and ways of doing things. Almost the entire fabric of Roman civilization came from those they either took over or traded with, and this include Christianity. The Holy Roman Empire was basically the old Roman Empire given a new mythology to follow. And if you want to see anchent Roman Court or Religious ceremonies, you just have to attend either a Roman Catholic or Church of England high mass.

In keeping with the religious tone, if the regilions of Abraham (Jeudaism, Christianity & Islam) never took hold, which religion would appeal to you?

A) Buddhism
B) Paeganism
Always ask why.

Thanks for the history Ceemes, very interesting.

As for the question Buddism or Paganism? Strictly speaking Buddism is a phillosphy not a religion, as it promotes a way of life rather than a deity.

Pagan beliefs are quite a draw for me, in that to celbrate nature, seasons & the sun/moon cycles seems so ancient & natural rather than invented by some religious cult.

In Scotland a Danish princess (Queen Margaret 11++'s) reputedly introduced Christianity. She did this by encircling ancient Pagan sites with stones, then walls & eventually roofs. I have certainly visited ancient ruined Christian chapels that have a very strong spiritual feel (maybe lay lines).

Just like the Romans the Christians took existing celebrations & "holy" days & co opted them into what we now know as the Christian calendar.

So my vote goes to Paganism.

Now lowering the intellectual debate...

A) John Wayne......or........

B) James Stewart?

Jimmy Stewart, he was low keyed, and "real". Plus he served in the USAAF during WWII and flew combat bombing missions. Wayne on the other hand was a pusssy. Sat out WWII in the safety of a Hollywood studio just like that other icon of Right Wing 'Merica, Ronnie Raygun. Plus Wayne's real name was Marion......the big poof.

And now to lower things even more......

a: Spam, Spam, Eggs, Baked Beans and Spam

0r

b: Spam, Spam, Toast, Bacon, Spam and Eggs?

Which is the best brekkie?
Always ask why.
