If you are riding 4 hours on the superslab the DR350/DR400 would not be a good idea. I would go with the KLR650 myself. The DR650 is better off road and but not as comfy on the highway. Also unlike the Suzuki DR series, the KLR has a phenomenal aftermarket support. You can accessorize and customize the KLR to your heart's desire.

Thanks HYPERR and madjak30! Both the DR650 and KLR650 are on my list and have several KLRs to check out and a couple of DRs... Like the KLR's road prowess, but love the simplicity of the DR. Money should be here Friday or Saturday and then it will be time to start getting serious!

Thanks for EVERYONE'S INPUT, I value all of your thoughts.

Thought I would check in... I test rode a klr650 and found it too much bike for me to start with. Ended up riding a 1991 XR250L and knew instantly that I had to have it. Under 4,000 miles and only $950; starts nice and easy, too. In a couple of years, I may look for something bigger to compliment my 250, but I will never get rid of it.

Glad to hear you recognize your own limitations and are happy with your purchase! Congratulations! Now go kick up some dust and scare a rabbit or two lol.
