Right: Travelled with guys who have done this before.
Wrong: Underestimated the importance of a small selection tools for "on the road" maintenance (chain tightening, minor fuel system issues). Also - Zipties - they are the duct tape for motorcycles for securing failing luggage strap and vaccuum lines.

I definitely need some more displacement for Mountain passes though. Next year, its Devils Tower WY, and maybe MT Rushmore- time and $$ dicatate though.

Galena / Shelterbay ferries - The are losing one ferry real soon (season volume trafffic subsiding). SO it won't be every 1/2 hr. Miss it, and your down for the hour.

Stop in at "CutRite meats and Deli" in Nakusp. My cousin owns it. Get a Hoss-n-egger for breakfast.

Have fun - post pics.

I wish I had checked in here for this info before we left...

The construction & ferry schedules caused some delay and we had some minor glitches with two of the bikes and a major one with mine...I'll start a "My First Road Trip Experience" thread later when I can upload the pics...

But I'll post a teaser here...my bike is still in BC...

Later.
