Cool. The only other FI 250 street bike is the CBR250R, (Or Ninja 250 in most places I guess). But the classic styling is pretty darn awesome, and the simplicity of an air cooled bike is darn nice for maintenance needs and whatnot.

The Suzuki DR650SE lists for only $600 more so why would I buy a 250? Nice styling though.

Agreed. In a country that has tiered licensing, it might be a different story but not in the US.rayian wrote:The Suzuki DR650SE lists for only $600 more so why would I buy a 250? Nice styling though.
The fact remains this bike is one of the biggest ripoffs in the entire industry. Even compared to other bikes in the Suzuki lineup, it is a huge ripoff!
If you want a classic thumper, for less than a $100 more, you can get this

First of all, I just checked the Suzuki USA website: base price is $4,099. The only accessory listed is a $219 gel seat. I don't know where the figure of $5300 came from, but that's not what Suzuki says the bike costs in the US.HYPERR wrote:The fact remains this bike is one of the biggest ripoffs in the entire industry. But just for the sake of argument, Hyperr, let's pretend it did cost $5300. Why the heck would I want a Royal Enfield that weighs 100lb more, barely exceeds the TU250X's horsepower and speed and acceleration stats with twice the displacement, and is supported by Royal Enfields one-dealer-every-500-miles dealership network? (and many of those aren't real motorcycle dealerships, they're auto dealers, boat dealers, etc, selling the bikes as a side line.)

Re: This Week: 2012 Suzuki TU250X - VOTE NOW
I like this bike coz it harkens back to the types of bikes I learned on, the old small displacement UJM's, mind you the CM series were parallel twins and not single cylinder thumpers, but still, these image of this tidy little bike brings back fond memories. Plus it great to see another "beginner" bike on the market that isn't covered in plastic or is a Capt. America knock off.
Its a simple design, pleasing to the eye and with just enough modern cons to make it up to date. Like I said, how can it be anything but awesome?

Always ask why.

Cool... Looks like it would be a great starter bike. I bet the fuel milage is awesome!

Re: This Week: 2012 Suzuki TU250X - VOTE NOW
I'm sure it's a typo on Mike's part...the $5399 is the Canadian price...still too pricey for what you get in my opinion...but I'm not the target demographic for this bike...either a beginner (who would be better off buying a used bike...) or someone that lives in the city and wants a bike that is great for buzzing around town on a retro styled bike...and yes, it is awesome on fuel...jstark47 wrote:Suzuki says it's $4,099: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%20L ... y=standard - upper right hand corner of the pageHYPERR wrote:http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcyc ... I just feel there are better choices out there...
Later.

That sounds much more realistic. I would have said the right price for the bike should be about $3,995.jstark47 wrote:Suzuki says it's $4,099: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%20L ... y=standard - upper right hand corner of the pageHYPERR wrote:http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcyc ...
