Right Brake Lever Too Tight After Drop

Hi forum,

I recently dropped my bike, well more like I laid it down, I was going <10mph.
The cause was locking up the rear brake by stepping on it too quickly and not using enough front brake.
Along with that, the handlebars got twisted a bit to the right,
but I'm going to loosen some bolts and see if I can't work it
back to center before taking it to the repair shop.

My question is, when I dropped the bike, it landed on the right side.
Since then, the bike's right brake lever seems too tight, or almost like it doesn't retract all the way,
and it's much more sensitive.

(I can't pinpoint it exactly, something just doesn't feel right).
The right brake lever did show some wear from the pavement on the cap,
so I'm positive it took a bit of a blow when the bike fell.

Has anyone experienced this issue, or know what it may be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Addison and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you've bent something in your master cylinder. Maybe it's the lever, which is relatively cheap to replace, but it may be the cylinder itself which is a bit more to replace. You can try to find a motorcycle salvage yard in your area, or E-bay to save a little money. And pictures are good.

Is the bike still safe to ride with the brake in that condition? I can still brake fine, I would just like the extra play in the brake like I'm used to feeling.

While the bike may be safe to ride, I'd get it repaired as soon as possible because the brake may be dragging. Does the Kawasaki dealer in your area do free estimates?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post the pic, I decided to just take the bike to a local repair shop and they had a great mechanic that got everything fixed up for $25!
The handle was a little bent, and the alignment issue he fixed solved most of it as well.
