I think the TMax more than any other machine currently sold blurs the scooter/motorcycle line. It's on the scooter side of the line, but it has a foot on the other side! It's a bike I'd be really curious to try out- there's a Yamaha dealer close by, and I probably could even talk my way into a test ride. But I'm a little funny about that- I don't ask to test things I don't have a genuine interest in buying, and I'm really not looking to buy a scooter. Just curious to see what the TMax is like.

So Marvin, next time you're in Burlington County, NJ, bring your TMax by and let me give it a whirl!

Vito? The Honda Silver Wing is a great machine, but I admit I was never on one, i did ride the Suzuki 650 Burgman and I can make a comparision between it and the Yamaha Tmax, the Burgman has more grunt, torque, top end power, but it has a delay throttle responce, but one advantage the Tmax is its bigger diameter tires and lower center of gravity that makes it handle like a dream. If we had a race between the Tmax, Silver Wing, and the Burgman, your Silver Wing would win, but the Tmax would match your acceleration from a dead stop for the first 60 mph.

My story to my obsession with scooters started in the summer of 2010, I wanted the Burgman, dealer wouldn't sell it to me, Honda dealers banned me , i bought the Yamaha Tmax, but I kept my Yamaha FZ6 thinking if I didn't like the Tmax I still had the FZ6 and sell the Tmax, the story of my life was searching for the "just right" motorcycle, every year I would buy a different one then later didn't like it. But,,,, the Yamaha Tmax changed that, I found myself riding it more and more, and slowly loving it more and more as i rode it, I never felt that way before with any motorcycle I have owned in the past, so I sold my Yamaha FZ6 with no regrets, and here it is the spring of 2012 and I have no desire to shop for a new bike.

jstark47? No Yamaha Dealer would have a new or used Tmax in stock, and if you would ask the dealer for one he would tell you he wishes he had some to sell cause many people are looking for one.
All maxi scooters are selling for a high price cause everybody wants one and only a few were made, the most popular scooter this year is the Honda PCX with a cheap $3395 MSRP, but I do know local Honda dealers are selling them for a higher price than MSRP, you can't touch a Suzuki 650 Burgman for under $10K and just 2 years ago they were selling for $6295.
I have got many offers to sell my 09 Tmax, I have got an offer of $6250 where the book price is listed at $4700, and i paid $5000 for it.

People are in a panic wanting to buy a scooter cause of the gas prices going up, but they don't know that the bigger maxi scooters are not that great on gas mileage, there are bigger, more powerfull motorcycles out there that get much better gas mileage,,but I never bought a maxi scooter just because of gas mileage, on my Tmax I am getting between 45-49 MPG where my older Yamaha FZ6 was getting 55 MPG, if you want a motorcycle with a good balance of performance with great gas mileage get a Kawasaki 250 Ninja

There are four TMax's in stock right now at Mount Holly Powersports, Mt. Holly, NJ.

Friendly piece of advice? If you're going to be an internet troll, stick to things that can't be so easily disproved.

Unfortunately every forum, sooner or later, seems to attract unhappy trolls like Marvin who accomplish nothing but driving away some of the folks we would like to participate in the discussion. His nonsense about scooters is so ridiculous it is not worthy of comment.
