If I did a lot of touring, I would probably like this a lot more than I do. I think it's cool because of its potential...just impractical for day to day riding. Though, if I ever get to where I can't hold two wheels up, I'd love to trike a Gold Wing and make it a daily driver.

Personally I'm not a Goldwing fan, I'd much rather have a K1600GT, but I can respect the engineering that went into the wing. I see people hating on them all over but Goldwing sales probably make up a good chunk of Honda revenue. That said, i had to vote uncool because it just doesn't seem like a very fun bike to ride.

Good point. I was trying to figure out why I think the Goldwing is uncool. I was about to suggest that all its creature comforts kinda take away from the spirit of motorcycling, but that's a silly argument. The K1600GT arguably has more electronic/comfort/convenience/luggage doodads, and I'm fine with that bike (although I wouldn't buy one either).snakedoctEr726 wrote:Personally I'm not a Goldwing fan, I'd much rather have a K1600GT, but I can respect the engineering that went into the wing.
I guess it's the Goldwing's stuck-in-the-80s Barcalounger styling that (IMHO) is uncool. Of course, as has been mentioned, in spite of its looks, these things can be hustled

There is no other bike that is in the same class as the Goldwing. I voted awesome, just be ause it is. Anybody that thinks this is a cumbersome bike, has never ridden one. Saw this video posted on a Harley site and the poster was suitably impressed...

I had this on demo a while back. it handles like a dream, plenty of grunt and an absolute pleasure to ride. Lots of gadgets and when you can scrape the centre stand in the corners without fear, well nuff said
I vote awsome

I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Voted: Uncool...
It's not really either, but I can't say I would feel cool riding one...even though it would be a great bike to ride and tour on...there should be an "Okay" choice...I wouldn't feel like a dork, but definitely not cool.
Later.
