I just don't know a whole lot about the enduro/adventure/motard spectrum to make a recommendation.

I know this, motard seems more your style than adventure, and enduros aren't any fun.

Someone in my neighborhood is asking $8100 for one of these:

A 2007 Aprilia Tuono 1000R. That's a pretty hot looking bike, I don't know a thing about them though. It's just what came up when I searched our local classifieds for 'motard'.
