My KLX250S even when it was stock (which wasn't long) used to hit 85 mph indicated on the speedometer; which most likely was around 78 or so. With all the mods I did and the Mikuni Pumper I just installed, the bike runs like a scalded ape. It sounds awesome too!
Nothing says "Motorcycle!" like a Thumper.

I think you missed my point, which wasn't about 650cc engines, but about big singles (thumpers).
