I thought the Rune was basically the same as the Valk except a lot more stylized and with different suspension.

I've been riding motorcycles since 1969 and never had a flat. However, in 1975 my girlfriend got her motorcycle licence and the first time she went out riding got a flat front tire. She never got on a bike again after that.

I get about a flat a year on the bike and the car. It's always some nail or screw I've picked up. You never know what you're going to roll over in these old mining towns.

Interesting stories on wear. I get about 10k miles out of a pair. 15k would be nice, but this way I get to change them around Christmas, when they're on sale :) And it's easier to remember to change them every other service.
Ooooooh. Shiny!

I'm no expert ... but ... the Valk is a (carbureted) GL1500 and the Rune is a (fuel-injected) GL1800, for starters. They are very different machines.

Oh for some reason I thought the Valkyrie had the 1800cc FI motor. Whoops.
