slip on exhaust

#1 Unread post by staub79 »

I have a 2005 katana 600 and was needing to know whether or not to remove a gasket on the collector where the new slip on goes into the old header. I have had conflicting stories as to that i should remove it and some that i should no remove it. the gasket itself is i round and goes around the pipe and it looks like a stell wool type of gasket. I just wanna know if i should remove it or not. its a d and d exhaust by the way too. with no jetting.

If your installing an aftermarket slip-on cannister, it needs some type of gasket. It may come with one, maybe already installed in the can. If it does, remove the stock gasket before installation of the new system. If the stock one is still good(probably isn't if it has many miles on it), you might be able to re-use it if you need to.

I think this is what your talking about....??? 8)
