Re: Has anyone every rented a motorcycle?
I rented a Suzuki GS500 in Tenerife, a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 in Scotland, and a Harley Sportster 883 in Austria. I've also rented scooters a few times while on holiday. It's more expensive than renting a car, probably because of insurance.

I have also rent a motorcycle for a day and it is less costlier than renting a car so go for it and have fun...

Renting a bike is not a bad thing. Renting bikes will helps you while you are out of the town and it will surely helps you to visit a city or any unknown place easily. Many companies provides you bikes on a leas.

There are few places, but most common is Harley...one of the ladies I work with, her husband rents one for the weekend a couple times a year...they charge $200 per day, but it includes everything...helmet, rain gear, insurance (don't know about jacket, gloves, or other gear...) It's a little pricey, but cheaper than buying and insuring his own for the couple rides he does per year.

High_Side wrote:Eaglerider.com is the big one and I have used it a couple of times. Compared to the little bikes that I have rented in little countries they are a dream. Renting a Harley in the "off-season" Jan or Feb for us Canadians is super-cheap in my opinion and the bikes are always in top condition. Every winter vacation that I take to the US will have me using their services - at least until I pick up a place in Phoenix and run the bikes down there in the fall - which may really happen
Can I run mine down there too???

With retirement coming up really soon, (Less than 2 years away) I'll be looking for ideas for snow birding it, as well as looking for an inexpensive RV park in the Calgary area.. May as well be close to the grand kids for a part of the year...

You can rent scooters but no motorcycle that I have ever heard of. Scooters just twist the throttle and go. Motorcycles require a class M license, insurance, knowing the bike( some crash on a friends bike due to not use to it), gear on most motorcycles. So I really can't see anyone renting out a motorcycle..Sorry...
