I went to see the movie Argo.

Confirmed my next project...off to Ft Mac next week...
Washed the truck & picked up some new parts for it...
Patted the seat of my bike (soon buddy, soon)

Not much excitement...getting the wheels re-balanced on the truck tomorrow...wish I could say I was going to get a ride in but that's just not in the cards, maybe in late March?

Talked to wifey about my new contract and what it was worth...now she's allowing me to look at new bikes! I think things are looking up for 2013!

But I might keep my MT-01 & upgrade my commuter car instead...Hmmm, decisions decisions

Preparing for another epic Marshalling event.

On Sunday we travel by car and trailer, 1400 kms to Capetown to do this

HotChillee, the cycling events company behind The London-Paris and Alpine Challenge are proud to launch the Cape Rouleur 2013.

The Cape Rouleur covers almost 600km and over 5000m of climbing. It takes riders through the stunning South African scenery in the Western Cape, over mountain passes such as Franschhoek, Viljeon's and Houw Hoek, around Paarl Mountain and through the Perdeberg National Reserve. Riders will enjoy the stunning Clarence Drive from Gordon's Bay - called by Phil Liggett "my favourite stretch of road on the planet". Riders are based in one of the oldest towns in South Africa and the heart of gastronomy and wine in the country, Franschhoek. As with all HotChillee events, it is organised to bring enthusiasts as close to the Tour de France experience as possible, with motorbike outriders, lead and support vehicles from Vehicle Partner Hertz and access to masseurs and mechanics provided by Local Retail Partner, Cycle Lab. The seeded groups will be led by experienced HotChillee Ride Captains.

As part of the entry to the Cape Rouleur, rider's get a seeded entry to the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, the world's largest individually timed cycle race. This gives participants a full week of cycling, comprising the three stages of the Cape Rouleur, a social 112km ride into Cape Town escorted in "Festival" style from Durbanville into the City Waterfront by the Cape Town City motor cycle police and then the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour the following Sunday, ending with finish line hospitality.

Sounds like fun. How the heck do you find the time to do these things?

I left work early due to the headache and clenched jaw and sore neck and shoulders form the tension caused by the hammering and drilling all day .....some manager types were re-doing some offices and it was so noisy.....I left early and went to a movie.

You think this kind of work could be done after hours when nobody is there?

They are salaried. Highly paid. They could have organized themselves to change their days or hours so that it would not be so disruptive to those who still have to function in the office.

Between puttering and de cluttering and surfing the net while listening to the pounding rain outside, I have managed to while away half of Saturday. Later, I'll roast a chicken for dinner with my girlfriend. I'm cooking the dinner, she is bringing some wine.

So far March has come in like a lion....so hopefully it goes out like a lamb.
