Electrical problems
Electrical problems
I've been having big time electrical problems with my bike (Suzuki '04 GZ250). First the turn signals turn on but don't blink. Then the neutral indicator doesn't work, then the bike would not turn no at all (no clicks), then the bike would turn on but would shut down when I put it first gear (yes the side stand was up) now everything seems to work unless I flip on the high beams then the turn signals go out again or the bike doesn't turn on etc.,. The problems seems to cycle through all these over and over again. Am I screwed?

That's a pretty new bike - did you buy it from the dealer? Sounds like it could be a warranty issue. I've fixed turn signal/light problems with my bike by replacing the blinker relay - easy and just a few bucks - something tells me your problem won't be as simple.

I suspect a faulty wiring job - blame the dealership get it back there for a repair.
Alot of bikes (Suzukis in particular) come to the dealership in pieces in a crate. Usually it's the most inexperienced tech -the new guy- who gets the boring task of putting bikes together. It's also typical that the experienced tech doesn't check the job out - he's got other things to do.
This is why your initial checkup is so important, and also why the dealership may be responsible for crappy wiring. Take it back immediately.

what happened?
So, what was the result? I'm curious because I'll probably buy an '06 GZ next year (or better yet, a left over '05) unless I start hearing some really bad things about them.
