Good job on changing doctors, my own doctor rides which is very cool. We've talked about the dangers and stuff, but he agrees that it's worth the risk. We just need to be mindful of the 2000 lb morons around us.

I hope you are fully recovered soon and take care, we're all with you !

Eh, thats a scary doctor. Aren't they supposed to treat everyone equally regardless of race, religion, or say, what you drive?

Glad you aren't dead though!

After watching that police camera video of a guy getting hit at a red light (someone posted it before the hack), I've always kept my eyes glued to the mirror when anyone's approaching.
So much that one time the light turned green and I didn't go because I was watching the truck behind me

.

Why aren't cars made with brake lights in the front as well as behind? It would help cut the few seconds used trying to determine if they're slowing down or not.

Anyway, get back on the road soon!

In a choice between a woman and the bike the bike wins - I cant believe her husband got rid of his...

I dont know about you but its part of me, and if someoen loves me enough to spend the rest of their life with me then they should respect the things/people I truely love...

Grrr...

Can you report the doctor? I mean that seems a little, well, negligent at the end of the day...

Anyways, I'm glad you are up and about. It sucks because there dosnt sound like there was anything you could have done but better the bike's a write-off than you.

Not only did she defend riding to the crazy donkey admitting nurse and complained to our health care provider about the unprofessionalism of my ex-doctor... but while we were waiting in urgent care the night of the accident, she looked at me with her big ol' brown eyes and asked, "So, NOW are you finally going to get a Ducati? You've been talking about them for years..."

I was totally shocked! That had to be the coolest thing she's said to me in years. My reply was, 'well hell... I figure at this point I can try just about any bike I want". She just smiled...

I know this may sound strange just now but you're a very lucky man.

I say stick it to her insurance company and enjoy the proceeds!

Sorry to hear about your accident. I installed a module on my bike that turns the turn signals into running lights, which means that they are always on which make you more visible. Normal rear turn signals are off, and only come on when the turn signal button is pressed. The turn signals will also flash when ever you apply the brakes. The unit is programable to behave about 17 different ways. I kept the default mode which when the brake is applied will alternate the left and right turn signal on and off four times, it will then flash both turn signal on and off four times and then stay on. If you release that brake for more that about 4 or 5 seconds, it will start the sequence all over again. The brake light works the same way it normally did.

I always keep an eye on my tail and if something doesn't seem right, I will tap the brake to start the sequence. I often do it when someone is tailgating me. They usally get the hint and back off.

I know that the board doesn't like endorsement of products on the board, but I feel really strong about the safety of this product. It isn't cheap, I paid about $100 for it and had the Honda dealer install it, which cost me about another $80. But safety is well worth it!!

Here is the link to the module. I have no affiliation with that company, but when I was doing research on what to get, this was by far the best thing I found on the market. It's a lot more expensive the the Back-Off module that a lot of people use, but it is a lot more powerful and does a lot more.

I used to always pop the bike into Neutral at red lights, until I realized that if I needed to get out of there quick, to avoid being struck from behind, I would lose time by having to shift. So now, I try and leave enough room for an escape route, and also I watch the mirrors and keep that sucker in first. (Unless there is a car stopped behind me)
