Another point that should be made is that a Ducati 695 is not a beginner's bike. Since you already have one I guess it's a moot point but instead of showing off for the ladies at a bar you should limit your riding to one up, day time, practice for a year. You probably have a nice car too so ride in that to the bars, impress the ladies with your personality and not your ride, and be damned careful on that bike. No matter what the press or reviews etc say, the Monster is NOT a beginners bike.

Hey thanks mom but for any one that might stumble on this with the same questions lets stick to the topic and thats what do you do with your gear when your not on your bike. Last weekend i checked my helmet and jacket at the door of the club but it was a nicer place and i dont think ill be able to pull that off in less classy places. Helmet locks seam like a good idea but it seams like that only covers a helmet no jacket or gloves. If any one else has any cool ways to stay safe and still go out like a human please post it

Mount a small Givi top case on your Duc to put your helmet and gloves in and they will be out of sight too, you can snap the case off when not needed so it looks like a Duc again, case locks to bike. The thought of going out to a pub and only having one beer never occurred to me when I posted above, I started riding 28 years ago but stopped drinking 34 years ago. LOL

I completely agree that we should stay focused on the question you asked, what to do with your helmet when you go out to hit the bar.

The best answer to your question is simply not to drink anything at all and then ride a motorcycle. Leave both the motorcycle and the helmet at home.

The more general question of what to do with your helmet and gear when you are out, and not drinking, has lots of good answers that have been covered in lots of discussion on many motorcycle forums all over the Internet and the only thing remotely unique about your question is the inclusion of "hit the bar". Even then, there have been a number of great solutions to that more general question offered in this thread and there is nothing at all wrong with asking that question even if it has been asked and answered numerous times in the past.

So long as this thread continues to include talk about clubbing and bars, then anyone might stumble on this thread with the same question and they might not be as intelligent, responsible and mature as yourself and they might just possible think that going out drinking and riding a motorcycle is somehow cool. Lots of people have figured out lots of cool ways to stay safe and still go out like a human, but not one of those solutions involves drinking and then getting on a motorcycle.

There are no cool people who drink and drive, much less drink and ride. Lots of intelligent, responsible and mature motorcyclist have been murdered by the former, and many of the latter have effectively committed suicide, hopefully without taking some nice girl that they just met at a bar along for that final ride.

Hay Pyronano, I was not aware that no one ever takes Internet advice on the dangers of drinking and riding and that it is just impossible to help save lives by discussing motorcycle safety issues on motorcycle forums. Thanks for sharing that great information, I am sure it is going to help a lot of people.

Seriously, we all, or at least most of us, understand that the effort is largely wasted on you and that you are most likely going to do just exactly what you please without any concern for the harm you might do yourself or others, but then that is not the only reason I took the time to write my response. My post was address to you, but it was not my expectation that you would actually benefit from this type of advice, it was only a hope.

Objectively, over the last few decades, public awareness of the dangers of impaired driving has improved significantly and many lives have been saved by changes in cultural attitudes and our laws. NHTSA data show that the number of alcohol related fatalities on our roads decreased 52% from 21,113 deaths in 1982 to 10,288 deaths in 2010. I see this as a positive trend, especially for motorcyclists where the probability of death or significant injury in a crash is much greater than for those in a cage.

I trust that you will forgive me if I persist in advocating against drinking and riding as long as you persist in writing posts that express a cavalier attitude toward that subject.

The MSF teaches that the most important piece of safety equipment any motorcyclist has is his or her brain; it is the attitude a rider has toward safety, a commitment to safety, that has the greatest impact on an individuals chances on the road. ATGATT starts with the brain. Don't leave home without yours else a helmet is of only limited benefit. Perhaps the most rational solution to that important question of what to do with your helmet when you are out bar hopping on a motorcycle is to simply leave your helmet at home, right next to your brain, as your helmet will have only a negligible impact on your total risk compared to any alcohol you consume. This is the generic "you" and specifically not intended to be inclusive of Pyronano.

You dont know about motorcycles or about having social life and this topic IS NOT ABOUT ALCOHOL. Just to get back to the topic . . . some people have already mentioned top boxes for helmets and gloves, and for your jacket, you can loop a long cable lock through both of its sleeves so you can lock the jacket to the bike. Hopefully the weather is reasonably ok and you won't get back to your bike with a soggy jacket on it.
