96 zx11 issue
96 zx11 issue
I have a 96 zx-11. At first it had a idle issue, it will not stay crank without using the choke. I replaced the jets, now it idles good after it warms up, but it cuts off when I give it some throttle. This is when it is still in neutral, I still have it apart but in a condition were it will still crank, so I haven't tried to put it in gear yet. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Have you balanced the carbs? If not that's where to start.
Have you adjusted the fuel/air screws? They should be around 2.5 turns out.

Re: 96 zx11 issue
This was my first time doing carbs, but all I did was change the jets. I did search YouTube for the syncing steps, but it doesn't make sense to me. The fuel/air screw, is it 2.5 from where it sits already?

For the fuel/air screw, screw it all the way in so it LIGHTLY touches down. Then screw it out 2.5 turns.
For the synching, you either need to build or buy a manometer. The synching process is actually pretty simple. Where are you at? We might have a member willing to stop by and help you out with it.

Re: 96 zx11 issue
Just remember there's one on each carb.
I do know a guy out near Dunn. I'll see if he's up for helping out.
