Yeah, I never understood why you were hatin'. Erik still retains controlling interest in EBR. This gives him access to the capital he needs to get to the next level.

I really don't like the whole Indian move but I gotta admit it works.

It's good to see that after 3 years of saying "future model" that it will be coming out in October. A little disappointed in the price being that high, I really wanted to see something 1/2 that price from EBR (even if it is 1/2 the bike) to get people into the brand. I don't think a manufacturer can be mass market successful without "entry level bikes". At least the RX is 1/2 the price of the RS!

That said, the EBR SX and EBR AX is still to come... maybe they will fit that bill?

If the new bike is on par (or better) with a Panigale, RC8, or RSV it may be in the right range on price. I also support the idea of getting the top spec road bike out there first to create a buzz about the brand before following this up with lower cost entry level models. Attempting to do this in reverse would paint Buell as the entry-level Indian-owned discount bike brand and would forever tie their hands for improving their image. I don't doubt that there will be Indian made lower cost models in the near future (ala KTM), but the first wide released new-Buell needs to be something special.

Can't wait to see it /ride it.

Right from EBR:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 18, 2013

EBR to unveil new American sport bike at AIMExpo in Orlando
EAST TROY, Wis. – Erik Buell Racing (EBR) announced today that a new sportbike will be unveiled October 16 at the American International Motorcycle Exposition (AIMExpo) in Orlando, Fla.
The new, street-legal high performance motorcycle carries EBR’s model designation 1190RX and is a direct descendant of EBR’s race-bred limited edition 1190RS Super Bike. While the 1190RX shares its sibling’s 1190cc engine and many of EBR’s exclusive performance and handling-enhancing features, it is a new design created to tame the wildest roads and rouse the most demanding riders.
“This is the culmination of decades of dedication, innovation and teamwork,” said EBR founder Erik Buell. “We have been working to create a pure rider’s machine and a true world brand. From the heartland and the heart of America, these are extraordinary motorcycles that discerning riders everywhere will be passionate to own.”
The unveiling of the EBR 1190RX will take place in EBR’s booth number 1157 at the AIMExpo at 12:00 noon on October 16. Media representatives and motorcycle dealers are encouraged to attend, as a number of developments from the EBR team will be announced at that time.

Of course, TMW will have the bike up when the embargo ends chock full of great HD+ photos, lots of info and more!
